How to choose a useful planter
Look past the color and check the fit.

Check the plant, then the pot
Write down the crop and its mature size before shopping. Compare usable depth and volume, not just the outside dimensions. Confirm that the container is suitable for the intended use.
Think about the filled weight
A planter that is easy to lift in a shop will behave differently once it contains wet mix and a mature plant. Plan its location and the route for bringing materials to it.
Make a short comparison
Compare two or three options on useful size, drainage arrangement, empty weight, weather suitability and total cost. Ask how you will clean and store it. Our preference is a planter that fits your daily routine and available space without extra workarounds.
